9 days and counting till the close.

This is the last week before my vacation. Its very weird - I haven't taken a 2 week vacation in my whole adult full-time working life. True, the first week will be taken up with the move and closings . . . but it will be so nice to unpack and relax in the second week.
This weekend was low-key, but exactly what we needed. We had plans on Friday night and on Saturday and Sunday did lots of packing and house stuff, breaking to watch bad TV (despite Gina Gershon's hotness "Prey for Rock and Roll" was a sucky movie - a bit of VH1's 100 Metal Moments finished off the weekend last night). We now have only our TV, Xbox and Cable Box hooked up and all the other components, DVDs and CDs are packed. The den is looking very naked.
Fun for this week includes throwing a lot of stuff into a dumpster, wall patching and touch-up paint, more packing (duh) and trying to figure out what's going on with our closing. We still don't have times booked, still don't have it coordinated how we'll get the $ from the Framingham sale for the Waltham close, and still don't know when our walk-through will be. Ken's been blowing us off since Thursday.
Ah well, this time next week I'll be at home taking down curtains and curtain rods (or something). A week from tomorrow the movers will be arriving to empty out our house. A week from Wednesday we'll be selling the house and buying a new one. A new chapter of our lives is beginning and its very, very exciting.
Its kind of funny that Historic Waltham Days are going on while we're in the process of moving back. It will be neat if we're able to attend some of the events (or at least the "History of the Duel" event at the Gore (heh) Estate). There's also going to be an open studios at the Artist's buildings . . . its too bad we'll be busy all next weekend.
