Thursday at Dragoncon
Sep. 3rd, 2004 09:26 amWe arrived safely, got our room, had lunch, took over an hour to check in (despite being pre-registered and the con not really starting till tomorrow) and then went to the 501st dinner at hooters. We've met some neat guys from Florida, Canada and Ohio, and one of the Florida Garrison let me try on his AT-AT pilot helmet (its not as claustrophobic as the TK . . . I may be being sucked in).
After that we headed to check out the night's entertainment, www.mcflyband.com. They were a riot, and played their own originals in addition to Ozzy, The Darkness, Van Halen, Pat Benetar, Def Leppard and others.

Today we have free until our first panel at 2:00, so we're going shopping and browsing. Then its panels till 8:00 when we dress in the LOTR costumes and go to the Evening at Bree (i.e. a social/dance that's supposed to be hanging out at the Prancing Pony).
Tonight is the Buffy Horror Picture Show at 11:30 (if we want to see it we need to get in line, like 2 hours beforehand). Rawk!
