According to their website tickets go on sale this Friday for the 11/13 show. It seems like they are costing around $30 at all of the other venues.

This was the first morning that I've warmed up my car before heading to work. I figure, I'll get the kettle on for my instant "coffee" (the General Foods French Vanilla - I don't like real coffee but like this chemical stuff for some reason . . . and tea makes my stomach hurt when its empty, so I avoid it unless I'm having breakfast immediately). I'll use the back door out to the driveway and start the car, and I'll let it warm up while I get my things together, make said coffee, and get out of the house.

I'm starting to really get into a routine in the new house with the new commute (it takes me a while to figure out the best way to do things usually). I got up 16 minutes earlier on Monday (6:00 AM) since I had to be at a meeting at 8:00 and the traffic has been horrific. That 15 minutes meant I got to work over 1/2 earlier and avoided a bunch of traffic. I've also found that taking the Winchester Highlands/Melrose exit (near the Stone Zoo) works better than taking the Fellsway Rotary exit - even at 7:30 AM that thing is always backed up.

I still need to figure the best way to get to school on Tuesday nights . . . taking the car-pool lane helped cut some time off the traffic (at night its OK to take it if you're not car-pooling) but there is still a bottleneck at the Zakim area. Of course, by the time I figure it out it I"ll be done driving over to Dorchester, so I may just sit in the traffic and use it as a time to listen to music or something (and force myself to calm down at bit).

Passing the Cambridge reservoir this morning I could see trees with colored leaves on the other side framed with the fog off of the water. I love New England in the Fall.

This weekend we'll be going to the CT Renn Faire finally (Sat) and I'll do a buttload of homework (Sun). Things are definitely picking up, and I'd love to get a jump on the final papers that I'll be writing for my Social Policy Class (doing a look at the last 25 years of health care in the US and other countries - managed care versus other forms of coverage and the rationing of health benefits) and my Fieldwork Project (on Electronic Medical Records). Tonight though, will be sewing (Ashton's shirt and a bodice for Saturday's Faire). I'm taking the night off of school stuff, dammit!

I have Monday (Columbus Day) off. Whoot. Its a "floater", but I have buttloads of vacation time to take and most peeps in my department are taking the day off.

Brian, are you working or not?

I think I'll spend 1/2 sewing and 1/2 homework. Which means I'll probably just work on my bodice tonight (but I need to measure pieces to figure out how much fabric Ashton needs to buy for those Han shirts.

I checked out Waltham's website http://www.walthamtheband.com/ to see if they have shows coming up - nothing local, but they are doing a mini-tour in PA and NY.

But - there's a video there from last week's show at the Skellig. Check it out! I can't really see me (its kind of dark), but you can get an idea of how crowded it was, what they sound like, and what a show is like.
