American Bellydancer
Feb. 11th, 2005 08:55 amWe went last night (after getting errands done) to check out a documentary at the Regent Theater of the creation of http://www.milescopeland.net/bellydance/home/ . One of the performers was there (Kaeshi) to perform before the movie. She was beautiful and inspiring!
As always happens when I see a performance, I think "maybe I should go back". Seeing my old teachers and classmates does that too. They asked me to come back and join their performance troupe, perhaps in the next session (to start in April, though they said "show up anytime").
Do I want to get myself into this? Do I want to commit to taking 3 dance classes every week (plus, paying for them)? Its sure exercise, and I love it. But . . . I'm nuts! :) Also, I love the dance, but hate the politics. It seems in our scene its hard to remove them from each other. I'll figure it out. In the meantime I'll enjoy the music, and the movement, and the shiny from afar.
