The Show

The Tori Show was wonderful. I was right - Harborlights is a wonderful venue for her. For the most part, people sat in their seats and just watched (but boomed applause and screams at the end (and sometimes in the middle) of each song). She played "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and Aerosmith's "Dream On" (the latter she told a cute story about, an Aerosmith band member watching over her daughter when they were both in Detroit and there was some kind of city blackout. She also played Playboy Mommy, which I didn't expect to hear either.

I bought a souvenir necklace to add to the collection that hangs from my rear view mirror in the car. There was an amazing supply of cute t-shirts and other merch to be bought too, all cheap as far as big concert standards go. The food and drinks were (relatively) cheap too. I seem to remember her writing in her book about how she tries to keep costs down so that it can be as much about the music as possible.

Its funny, Martha's Foolish Ginger is one of my least favorite songs from Beekeeper, but it just went completely through me last night, if that makes any sens to anyone. Also, our seats were awesome! They were directly behind the VIP area in the center section.

Have a great week all! I won't be around too much over the next 3 days since I have Meditech Training.

Training today was hot and cold. It will be a very neat skill for me to gain, but a challenging one. Most people in the training session are IT developer or Director types, not simple analysts like me. Its a Meditech NPR report writer training (I'm a mad woman!) and most people in the class seemed to have a lot more experience with Meditech. The concepts are fine, but some of the instructors move faster than I can follow at times.

I'm also reminded how convenient it is for me that I can get to Meditech via a 15 minute drive. Most people in the training program were flown in and are stuck in hotels in Framingham for the week (though I gave one woman some tips for things to check out in Boston over the weekend). At my lunch table there were people from Texas, Alaska and Nebraska (we discussed the ridiculous Boston housing market for a while). There were however some people from Cape Cod Hospital and a guy from Emerson with a wicked Boston accent behind me (I was wondering if Mr. Di may have known him - name was Mike or something and was probably a programmer).

Traffic back was nonexistent so I was able to hit the gym before heading home and making a dish with Brian I've wanted to try - a grilled pork w/ pineapple salsa (it was yummy, and fairly simple to make). Whenever he's done playing with Boba Fett bits we'll do something a bit more exciting :) . In the meantime I'll take down some of the butt ugly curtain rods in our living room that were here when we moved in and replace them with our own . . . its been over a year, you think its about time? :)
