This was my 23rd LJ post: http://www.livejournal.com/users/dancer/2000/12/08/ . I guess I'm supposed to share the 5th line or something with you, but it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Its funny reading this the day I'm going to buy a new car. :)

Those of you with advanced degrees: do you put the initials after your name?

I'm not used to seeing people list master's degree initials after their names so when I see it it always catches me off guard. Not that its not a big deal or anything, but worthy putting in your .sig at work? It always makes me want to ask them if they are looking for a cookie or something . . .

I can see if its something clinical, or if its someone advertising a service they provide or a seminar they are doing, or something in print - but elsewhere? I mean, I'm proud of my degree and all and of course I have it on my resume but I just don't see a need to sign all of my correspondence with essentially 'PS, I have a Master's Degree'.

I'm wondering what other people think about it (and how much of this is just a factor of my working class upbringing and its related biases that I try and be aware of). :)

Whee! My new car is so zippy! And pretty! It was sad letting the Saturn go but I definitely made the right decision. Its comfy and large and fast and cute. I'm amazed at how high off the ground I feel while driving it.

It has a name too! My new car is Hedwig (as in the angry inch). See former comments about it being a 'neutered hot rod' (i.e. its got a little bit of penis to it, but nothing major). Its also a fabulous peacock blue color, so it just fits I think.

The cheap cassette adapter I picked up at the Target in Everett just kept ejecting itself from the car so I was pretty bummed. We went into another target and I found one of another more reputable brand (white - specifically advertised for Ipod) and my car seems to like that. Given that the sound is fairly good and I may need a new Ipod soon anyway, I may hold off on getting an installed CD player in the car and just get a new Ipod instead. Hell, I could get a new Ipod for the gym and keep my old first gen one in the car at all times inside the console (just charging from the car's lighter when needed). I'll have to think on that one for a bit. I almost bought a Sony player at Best Buy tonight (plays MP3 CDs and has a line in and would have had free installation) but they were out of stock. I don't know when I'd get it installed before November anyway, so for now I'll just hold out with my Ipod.
