Our dance class was cut short last night, because a friend's grandfather died and we wanted to head to the wake. Visiting the local funeral home will serve to show you how community works. I think its apropos that at times of death we're reminded of how rich and connected life can be.
We caught up on last week's recorded episode of Dr. Who. Dr. Who was my first foray into science fiction, when I'd spend time watching it with Dad as a kid on PBS. I was so young, I don't remember much of the show specifically (I did love the daleks). This new series seems so much like it but I can't pinpoint why - kind of like deja vu. At some point we can grab some from Netflix (along with the other 300+ or so movies we have on there).
There's a woodpecker outside, close enough that I can hear it through the closed window. More life seems to be awakening, and I can't wait to put some things into the ground and rip others out of it.
On a much more unnatural tangent, I think I'll be spending some quality time with our heat gun or a scraper and some chemical stripper on Saturday afternoon. ( Read more... )
