Apr. 13th, 2006 08:25 amIts almost Friday, Friday, Friday! :)
The 2006 Star Wars Hallmark Xmas ornaments have been announced, and one of them will be: "For vehicles this year, a "Magic" (battery-operated) ornament of an Imperial AT-AT and Rebel Snowspeeder from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back plays sounds of the battle of Hoth when you press the button. $28 US, $39.95 CDN." BWAHAHAHA! Its not like we need more SW ornaments on our tree, but I wouldn't be a good AT-AT driver if I didn't get this ornament! :)
Brian was having a down day, so we headed out for him to explore the wonder that is Ikea. We ended up getting some necessities for the house, and some goodies to make his computer room more comfy (black leather recliner and matching foot rest). We were almost at the registers and decided to check out the 'as is' section (Tiamatlady, I don't remember seeing that on our trip there on opening day) and they had Brian's chair open, nothing wrong with it, for $70 off! That covered the cost of a lighted display case that he wanted to get for collectibles that he's seen folks on the RPF board with. The room is turning more into a comfy but showpieceworthy place for little cost, and that's a cool thing. Brian said that the consumerist exploration did serve to cheer him up a bit, and we were able to just drive and talk, which we don't have time to do often. My guess is he'll be there a couple more times to finish off the room, and we'll probably end up getting our patio set there once we have a place to put it (read: once we've finished the back porch and rented a dumpster to throw all of the old wood away in that's currently in a huge pile on the patio).
RE collectibles, if you want something, you need to come to my house to get it. There's too much to be bringing places, mailing places, whatever. :)
