Bathroom

The awesome DW is coming over tonight to help Brian get our new tub into the house from the back of the truck. After that, we're taking him out for buffalo. Moo! It will sit in my craft room for another week or so until we're ready for the plumber. This is really happening! :)

I've done some more reading in my Bungalow Bathroom book, and its brought me to one conclusion, and one question:
-We won't be putting in a shower door. They were rare in tubs back then, difficult to clean, and then we can have fun with shower curtains. This also saves us a few hundred dollars in the budget.
-We were planning on keeping the toilet we have because it works just fine, but it looks just too darned modern. The tank on the back is angled more narrow at the bottom than the top, and I'm going back and forth between thinking a couple of things:
a. I'm just being too anal and need to let it go - its a goddamned toilet!
b. It will look silly with the sink, tile, etc
c. After all we're going through in there, is it worth it to keep this stupid toilet?

I'm still not sure what we're going to do, Brian and I have more discussing to do on it.

Somewhat related, originally we were going to put in the new sink and toilet on our own. I'm wondering now if its worth just sucking up the extra day with the plumber and having them do it. We've never put in a toilet before (though I'm confident in our ability to do so, I'm sure it won't be a lot of fun) and my Dad seems to think that given the small size and funky style of our new sink putting the hardware on it will be a bitch (hard to get tools into small spaces). We'll see. It would be an extra expense, but it would be easier to just let them deal with it. Hrm.
