Humpty

Mal is doing well and continues to be completely stoned. He didn't snuggle up with me last night at all that I remember, because he just paced around the room, running into things with his cone head and purring like mad. At one point he must have exhausted himself, because I looked over to see him asleep on the loveseat. The incision looks a bit red but isn't oozy and the stitches are still there. I go between wanting him to have pain relief and wondering if the drugged state of him isn't good because of the hyperness. I took all of his catnip mice away this morning to try and prevent him from at least wrestling with them.

We have a meeting with NEG folks tonight, so I hope he's OK being alone. Given our own nervousness we'll be laying low Thursday and Friday.

Unrelated, I heard a new Placebo song on the radio the other day covering a Kate Bush song (Running up that Hill). Somehow I had forgotten about how much Kate Bush just goes through me, but in a good way. I need to load her on my iPod. The new Tori Amos album is out on 5/1 too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (for real now) DW! :)

For those curious, its Torbutrol that Mal is taking for the next 4 days. Yikes!

The primary side effect is actually sedation, but according to this, "some animals may become over excited":

Of course Mal can't just be any animal; he has to be *some* animal! :)

The interesting thing is that the bottle doesn't actually say what the drug is (they wrote it on a separate piece of paper). Security measure perhaps? Either way, kitty likes it!
