Good Weekend
Jun. 4th, 2007 08:55 amI've been sewing again - its about time. On Friday I finished the bag I've been working on for Amavia and Lurfmonkey. We filled it with goodies from Trader Joes for their birthday. I meant to take a picture about it beforehand - oops! It was made from some sock monkey fabric w/ contrasting red for the bottom and handles, in the style of those popular LL Bean tote bags, with a pocket in the front.
I've also finally started working on my Inara 'Miranda' costume from Serenity. It will be an ongoing project, but I'll have something cobbled together for the showing of Serenity at The Coolidge on 6/23. There will be a group of us there in costume. I've also had some luck pulling some Galactica costume bits together. I'm going for costumed comfort at this year's Dragoncon. After getting Inara together I need to be working on some garb - I have a serious lack of it and I want to hit more faires this summer!
Despite the freaky weekend weather we had a good time, saw friends and spent some time together around the house, so it was all well balanced. We picked up some of Bert's Horrible Cookies from Salem, and learned that they are also opening a tea shop along Essex Street (for those interested).
We're going to Ceremony tonight and should be at Xmortis on Friday - gasp! :)
