Dance

I'm not a big reality show fan, but I have been watching the various dance related ones that have been on lately. It makes me so happy that it seems that dance is getting big again. Being a child of the 80s, I kind of thought the emphasis on dance was normal (until it kind of faded away from the mainstream). I guess if there were not one but two groups of guys dancing to entertain out at Faneuil Hall last night, that means something. Most often I don't even watch the show - I don't care who is getting voted off or anything, I just fast forward to the dance routines.

I'm usually not a big contemporary dance fan, but Mia Michael's routine this week really touched me. I was crying in my den as they performed. Its not often that a dance routine does that to me, and though I know that dance has the power to move people like that, I kind of forget sometimes when I get caught up in issues at my own studio or the distaste I have for reality shows.

Anyway, I'm not sure how long this video will be up but you should check it out (dance fan or not) - it was very moving. I wish the quality was better, but its something at least.
