Stuff

We ran some errands last night and took care of watches. Brian's needed a new battery in his for almost a year. I bought my first grownup watch (finally replacing the crappy stretchy band Timex) link . I had taken a risk at one I found in Vegas at one of the 'everything costs $10' stores but its kind of chintzy and once fitted to me would be either too small or too big (learned last night). And I doubt its water resistant. And it was a pain to put the thing on myself. I'm very happy with the Fossil one I grabbed last night (the Fossil store in the new section of the Natick Mall made that convenient). Whenever my work bonus goes through I'll put the funds toward the Amazon card (to cover the watch and our past travel).

Brian finally got his car inspected yesterday (only a couple of weeks late). He needed a new battery (it died during the inspection) and some lights, but it passed nonetheless. The mechanic said he's good for tires for another 2000 or so miles, and since he only drives about 5 miles a day during the week (and not at all on the weekends) we're off the hook for buying him new tires for a couple of years. Score!

I'm excited for fall. We picked up one of those cheezy fireplace DVDs last night with the crackling sounds and all, and Brian's working to coordinate our annual furnace cleaning/inspection. I wore a jacket this morning! Halloween is in a couple of weeks! I may end up baking an apple pie tonight. I love this time of year. :)

Land lines

Brian's wanted to ditch our land line for quite a while. I'm kind of torn on it. While the 9/11 inspired cellular 'noise' is rare, there are issues with cell phones. Thoughts? It would be a good cost savings, but I'm not sure I'm quite comfortable letting go yet . . .
