I wasn't as into it this year, probably due to Jabba craziness and Brian's work craziness and family craziness. Still, we decorated, we saw NMBC 3D in the theater and we passed out candy last night. We get a good amount of kids to be fun but not too many that we have to spend too much on candy - we purchased 3 big bags and went through most of it. No Star Wars costumes this year (on the kids or us) - what's with that!? I hope the kids weren't disappointed because for two years we've been "the stormtrooper house".

At about 8:30 we left the remaining candy on the porch, shut the lights and went back in to watch the classic movie, Halloween. Its been my most favorite horror movie ever but I hadn't seen it in a while. It was so good without being super bloody for various reasons: the lack of background on what made Michael crazy, the music and the filming angles. Netflix credits it for starting the whole US slasher craze. Either way, we enjoyed it. If only Brian's pager would have stopped vibrating (thankfully he's not on call starting this morning). For some reason Ghosthunters and Supernatural didn't tape on our cable box - did Supernatural air last night? I could do without the real time live overnight Ghosthunters (we watched a bit last year - boring!).

In house dorkiness, since he got home late (see prior work crazy comment) I had time to clean some stuff up in the kitchen. We have a ton of space for narrow storage on the shelves in our basement stairway after I tossed some old cleaning products I'm not using anymore so I moved stuff over there that doesn't get used often (waffle iron, pizelle iron, popcorn popper, coffee maker, apple peeler/corer/slicer, etc). I think we can get away with a tall narrow shelf or microwave cart to replace that black shelf - I'm going to look for some today. I'm also taking the plunge and picking up some of those shearling slippers; toasty feet, here I come! Payday is always fun, even if you're just picking up practical things.
