I'm getting sick of 40 degree weather. I know this is New England and all, but I just feel bad for our out of town guests from Arizona that were assuming that late March would be much warmer than November (when their last visit was a couple of years ago). If you had only 2 afternoons to show Boston to out of towners but wanted to keep fairly warm, where would you go? We took them on a quick frozen trip to the North End the last time (Mike's Pastry, because though its not the best bakery it was the one with table space).
Yerardi's in Newton is closing http://www.dailynewstribune.com/homepage/x1279454422 . I'm so glad that after all of the years I said I wanted to check this place out Brian and I finally did get there once in the last year. I thought it was so sweet that they had a bocce court in the back. Maybe Brian and I will actually take our bocce set out of the garage this year and get a game going. I don't even remember how to play anymore, but we used to do it in Gram's back yard all of the time at large family functions (I want to say they hosted a July 4th cookout each year).
It was a nice, chill weekend. We did get out of the house a bit and did get to see some friends and family but we also spent a good deal of time just enjoying our house. For the first time in I can't remember I read almost an entire book over the weekend (it helped I guess that it was a fluffy Dresden Files volume). Dad bought us each a self-help book for Easter (along with some chocolate and a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card), so I'll be diving into that one next. Maybe this week I'll also tackle that new weird cast on and start knitting that leaf tie.
