I'm going with some coworkers to my first Bruins game tonight. I'm not a big sports fan but I've always had a thing for hockey. I feel that it's kind of also my Massachusetts duty to attend one game from each of our professional teams, just once.
I liked this blog post about living in thin spaces http://www.steadymom.com/2010/12/living-in-the-thin-spaces.html#comment-6a010536116b9a970b013489acfc53970c . Last year I didn't send out cards because I just wasn't feeling it (instead I made a donation to an animal rescue organization and sent out e-cards). This year I am feeling it, so I've been gradually writing them out, taking my time.
We're catching Harry Potter tomorrow, the 7th Rail Crew reunion on Saturday and a holiday party on Sunday. In there somewhere will be a ballet class, some baking and some laundry. I get some kind of zen satisfaction in folding laundry. Maybe I will fold while watching White Christmas? It's a bit too much hoakey musical for Brian to join me, but I do so like to see it each year.
I will have a lot of work to do in the remaining days of the month with MD Report Cards and payments to process, but I fear that the holiday slack has already set in amongst my cube mates.
No thin spaces around me, no sir-ee!
