I always get excited about Wednesdays since we're halfway through the work-week. Getting on the other side of one is even more exciting!

I've been quite lazy this week with meal planning. While we've eaten well it's been scrounging/using things up. Last night Brian had a crazy day at work and I wasn't feeling the love of our planned meal, so we finally checked out http://nourishlexington.com/. So good! Their veggie chili was a great appetizer (a cup). I got the wheat penne w/ veggies (squash, kale, mushrooms) and salmon and Brian got some kind of cow with an amazing potato/blue cheese puff thing and asparagus. They have two different kinds of unsweetened iced tea there (a black/green mix and a berry one). I'm so glad we finally checked them out!

I had things to grab at Trader Joe's, so we hit the one in Burlington after. There was 1 item we needed that they didn't have (I will finally have my smores this weekend) and we braved the newish Market Basket down the street. Amazing! Easy to maneuver, a big pre-prepared food section, and a cafe with froufy drinks and soft serve. We enjoyed some twist cones for dessert while sitting in their wi-fi enabled cafe that looked like something out of Whole Foods. I was impressed with their selection of organic produce and store-brand basics and they tend to be the cheapest grocery store around, so I may give them a try for a bit for our grocery shopping, hitting them on the way home from work. We get our meat from the CSA and veggies from the farmer's market schedule willing, but there are always other things we need. Though, our organic milk and almond milk is always cheaper at BJs.

Before bed I had time to catch up on Torchwood. My thought of the series is that moving it from a 6 episode arch to one longer was a disservice. I like the general story but they keep doing the same stupid shit over and over. How many times does the dumb blonde CIA woman have to mess things up? How many times do they have to trust the government only to find that there is a spy within (duh). I did like the Angelo angle - sexy! I'm sad that the view of Americans is so poor that they had to dumb this down so much for our audiences - I mean come on, we are Dr. Who fans!

We're going to a Serenity dinner/viewing tonight at a friends', though my 2 Inara costumes (Serenity Miranda and Serenity Closing Reaver Fight) are woefully too small for me at this point. I'll wear my Browncoats shirt at least (think it is clean) and Brian has some Jayne stuff he can throw on.

Missed the gym yesterday because I had to leave work for my doctor's appointment, so I'll be back today. They are both removing trees from the property at my office building and repairing our parking garage (top and bottom), so the parking situation here is quite interesting, and will be for the next few weeks (on gym days I park between my building and the one the gym is in so that I don't have to lug my gym bag in and out all of the time). Good thing I get here early? Just like when I was commuting to Simmons in the Longwood Area, competing for Fenway parking on game days. If I had a class at 2PM I still left my house by 6:30 to avoid traffic and ensure a spot on the old Simmons MCB lot.

I'm glad we don't have too many plans for the weekend, love that kind of flexibility. I'd like to sew a bit this weekend. There, I said it! Maybe that will make me do it. :) As well as read a couple of books I've been going back and forth between: the recent Jim Butcher and one on Doulas. My Mom is going to join Brian and I for our babe's delivery and I thought this book (by some local authors) may help prepare all of us for this adventure. 1. Mom has wanted to attend all 3 of my sister's births and she wouldn't let her and 2) Brian doesn't do well in hospitals normally (gets lightheaded, nauseous - vasovagal reaction), so he'd like some backup. We have plans for a cookout on Sunday, I want to go visit a friend that had a new babe on Monday, and maybe I'll go see the fam at some point. There is some cooking to do for the cookout and the baby visit. Love long weekends!
