My rented pump started acting up yesterday. I was at the end my second of 3 at-work sessions, and it flashed "Error" on the screen and shut off. For the next session I unplugged it, plugged it in again and it worked fine. This morning it started sounding weird, and did the same "Error" flash. The off/on thing didn't work, so I hit google and found this http://www.mothering.com/community/t/1284641/medela-symphony-error-message . Taking out the card, wiping it with a tissue and putting it back in did get it going, but I think it still sounds weird. I'm hoping it lasts me the day and I'll need to go exhange it at Isis this weekend.
At the end of week 2 at work I'm feeling like I'm starting to get into the groove. Nights can still be crazy: bringing Mina and a ton of stuff in the house, putting things away, getting dinner and feeding/caring for her. I have dance class on Tues and Thurs which makes those nights more rushed. When she goes to bed we need to prep things for the next day (work bags, pump stuff, her bottles for daycare) and spend some time together to do whatever before bed. I should really be in bed at 9:00 since I'm getting up at 5:00, so this doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room. I know it will get better and easier. It already is a tiny less intimidating after 2 weeks.
Gorgeous weather! I need to get myself some more skirts/shirts for work. I have some dresses that I can't wear to the office now since I need to be able to pump easily. I'd love to hit Sister Thrift or Savers soon. :)
I was poking around in Flickr to find some pics of me to share with a friend, and found Brian's collection of photos of my poor old car Hedwig (as of the Angry Inch) after my car accident. I've told some of you I was hit head on and was extremely lucky to be in such a safe car to come out unscathed (I had bruised ribs and was sore for about 2 months, despite wearing a seat belt. Here are the photos of what the car looked like after the accident
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tk7602/sets/72157611287828355/with/3115262415/ . It was totalled (I only owed about $1k left on the loan) and I bought the car I'm in now, Eddie (as in The Head - it's black and big and metal). I had a pin on the fabric ceiling inside of the car that reads "heavy metal saved my life". Indeed! This pin now resides inside of Eddie, who is paid off now (the first car I bought "new" to me from a dealer that I managed to pay off before having to get another one. I hope to drive him for a good long time (with his shiny new transmission). Knocks on wood. Which reminds me that I have some work that needs to be done to him, but I need to leave him on a Saturday (at Monro) or Monday (at my regular mechanic around the corner) soon.
We're going to Boston Comicon with Mina tomorrow, which should be interesting. It will be my last troop in armor since the fall. Brian and I will switch off in costume during the day. My biggest concern is if she'll be able to get some naps in the stroller during the day. If she's super tired and overwhelmed she will have a major meltdown mid to late afternoon, as experience indicates.
