I am the tile wench

We spent yesterday doing kitchen stuff (I was a slacker and only put in 1/2 of a day so that I could head one town over to Ashland to see Waltham play). I have what look to be almost-blisters on my hands from working in the front hallway with a hammer and a chisel removing the old tile (my Dad said he's never seen tile be so stubborn before and he's curious what they used to glue it down) and from scraping the remaining glue off the floor with a special scraper tool so that the surface would be flat. We had to lay down a whole new floor in our front hall, kitchen and laundry room since what was down there was either crap, or had huge holes or sections missing. There are more pix to be posted, we need to take some and post them all (hopefully some time today).
So now we have our new floor (plywood) mostly partially down (we need to spend lots of time putting more screws into it) and the electrical boxes are in their places with notes on the walls as to what wires will go where (B and Bad Andy decided to stop working on kitchen stuff and build our shed before the rain started . . . they got through most of it before it started pouring). The guys will be running the wires and letting them drop into the basement for the electrician to at some point this week inspect and tie into the circuit box. And yes, we'll have an ethernet jack in our kitchen (near the breakfast bar, so one could sit there on stools with their laptop or something).
After getting food (we hadn't eaten all day pretty much) and laying on the couches moaning over our achey bodies we decided to not head out to the party we were planning on attending; we wouldn't be exciting companions for the other party goers in our tired states and I don't think I'd make the drive back from RI without falling asleep and killing us both in the process. We met up with friends at the theater down the street from us instead for "Finding Nemo" - go see it, it was beautiful, sappy and funny. It even features lobsters from Massachusetts ("yeah, and he went wicked fah").
Mmmmm, lobster :) You will be mine on Wednesday night!
Today will involve probably cleaning up a bit (our washer and dryer are in our den, eek), doing laundry, dance practice and most likely some anime watching tonight with Thenetimp.
I've been really tired and antisocial this week for some reason, I must get out of it before this coming week and weekend since there's a lot going on (of course, the weather doesn't help, either). I think its part inactivity (haven't been to the gym) and part hormonal (had my period this past week). I need to get moving again and I'll feel fine :)
Phear the mediocrity of my construction-laden life. Bwahahahah! (OK, its really not all *that* lame, I was just having a blah day yesterday).
