dancerjodiB and I went last night to see "Rock Star"; it was great. It brought back lots of memories of the music I listened to as a teen, the rock star lifestyle, a bit of schmoopiness and the progression to alternative/grunge in the early 90's. Mark Walburg did a wonderful job with the music (he actually did sing it all). If you do make it to the movie be sure to hang around during the credits for the movie cuts and an amusing rock and-roll rendition accompanied by break dancing of Walberg's "Good Vibrations" from the 80's.
The best thing about last night though - they showed a preview for "Training Day" featuring Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog (see http://www.movie-list.com/t/trainingday.shtml ) for the trailer. THEY DRIVE MY MONTE CARLO IN THE MOVIE! Same color, year and everything. I saw a flash of it and thought it looked familiar. Then I saw the close-up of the hood ornament and said to B "Hey, they are driving an old Monte Carlo". And then they showed the car and I screamed into the dark theatre "THAT'S MY CAR!!!" as B frantically whispered at me to be quiet.
So I'm going to see that movie, just to see my car in action. Ethan Hawke (who directed this) has great taste in automobiles!
