Kind of scary

dancerjodiMy office is in a building that has a bunch of doctor's offices. Our fire alarm went off earlier this afternoon due to some stupid person burning their toast and we all had to evacuate into the snow.
Doctor's office - think, lots of sick, invalid and old people. There was a massive traffic jam and holdup in the stairwell while someone tried to help a couple of old women down the stairs. People were being nice and all, and helping . . . but it kind of makes you scary to think "shit, what would happen if there was a really big fire".
Our office is across the street from a nursing home that we own too. I overheard one of the Malden Firefighters joking and saying he was glad the burnt toast wasn't over there, because imagine the horror of getting a bunch of nursing home residents out, yikes!
Off for the weekend, yipee! Have a good one everyone!
