Well, that didn't take long
Dec. 14th, 2004 10:54 pmAfter class I drove by the studio to see that as expected, the lights were still on. So I went up. I was greeted by Sheila on the stairs (who went to HS with my Mom and gave me a huge hug) and found the jazz class just breaking up for the evening. Friends from HS have returned (Christine, Jen, Tracy), others just a bit older than me are still there (Marie, Ann) and still others either my Mom's age or older are there (Peggy-Ann, Gloria, Sheila and of course, Miss Patty - the new ring leader). It seems a good mix of ages and abilities.
Needless to say I'll be at ballet class this Saturday at 10:00 (and the tap/jazz class next Tuesday night). Peggy's daughter (Peggy-Ann) is teaching the ballet class and apparently people are loving it, getting a killer workout, are into the choreography (a mix of classic ballet and lyrical) and can't get enough. Miss Peg would be proud! The vibe was really nice and lighter than the last time I had been there.
On that note - it appears that the studio was broken into a couple of weeks ago. What did the culprit take? The stereo? Nope. Money? Nope. They took some prints off of the wall in the smaller classroom (one of them a coveted Harvey Edwards print, the other a massive quilted dancing penguin piece). The Waltham police said whoever did it either had a key or knew how to get in because there were no signs of forced entry. Nice. More on this in a friends-only post tomorrow :)
