It really bugs me when parents don't tell us things that we should know. Point one - diseases can be hereditary. I should know if my dad had diabetes (he does, but my mom still hasn't told me this). Point two - I'm 33 years old. I can handle it. Really.
I think the lesson is to treat your kids like adults when they reach that state.
