The tree and front porch decorations are up. Just going home after work and staying around the house for most of the night was nice. As was falling asleep under a fleece blanket on the smooshy couch of doom (TM) in front of the tree. Its odd in that its tall (7.5') and skinny, but it looks like it was made for that corner of our living room. I'm hoping to pick up a real wreath before:
-heading to the Vet's in Wayland for insulin and syringes for the cat ($100+, ouch)
-heading home to make dinner (I won't be meeting up at the bar in Waltham with you folks, sorry)
-a Tupperware party
-picking up some groceries for this weekend

Tomorrow is our work holiday party at the Danversport Yacht Club (oh, excUUUse me!) :) Its going to be weird to be so dressed up with co-workers, but apparently its kind of a swanky place. This is the first traditional kind of fancy holiday party I've ever been to, so it will be interesting. My coworkers are looking to me to drag them out on the dance floor.

A week from today we'll be heading to NYC. I still need to figure out if we're driving/parking or taking a bus or train . . .

NYC

It's somewhat more expensive (I prefer the Accela Express, and I usually upgrade to first class though), but I find taking the train to be less stressful, than the drive, and you don't have to worry about driving in NYC and finding parking. (Although there is a good garrage just one block over from our place.)

If you do drive there is a fire hydrant you can stop in temporarily right across from our place while you unload/load up your car. A couple of the times I have driven I've been lucky with finding on-street parking on our block, but if I don't then I go to the garage. Lastly Remind B and I to write up the directions if you decide to drive; there are a couple of things that can make the end of the drive a little eaier if you know about them in advance.

The problem with the train (other than being tied to their schedule) is schlepping the bags to/from the train stations. (In NY it's not so bad when catching a cab [costs about $8 from Penn Sta.]) If you do decide to take the train, and given where you guys live you might consider driveing to the 128 sta and leaving your car in the grarage there rather than schlepping into Boston. (I have no expeience with that sta. though.)

I'd be up for car pooling tonight, though, do you think you'd be done with dinner in time?

That (in addition to our low wallets) was why we were skipping it :)

We'll try. I think we'll be able to, but won't be as social as we'd liked to have been.

6:45 (allowing enough time to get there w/ traffic and find parking if its difficult). That would give you guys an hour to eat. It should be doable, Brian and I just didn't want to be rushing around like that (we weren't sure we'd get to the bar by 5:45).

I have an interview scheduled 'til 5:45.

I'll be at the Brewing Co. ASAP after that.

I figure even if we just have apps and a brew there, that should be fine since there should be nosh at the party.
