Kitchen dork
Jan. 26th, 2006 10:02 amWe finally went to the grocery store last night. Yay for good food! We're going to make crock pot chili this weekend (on Saturday) with cornbread.
Before that we stopped by Target to pick up a new bathroom scale (our old one was a bit fried - oops, I dropped it a while ago), and another waterproof fitted sheet. It will make cleaning the bed linens much less of a big deal if we have 2 of them in the house (if the cat pees or pukes on it, he won't be banned from the room until one is clean anymore, since we should have 1 in the linen closet to fall back on). Last night he peed in our front hallway on the wood floor, right in front of the door. Sometimes I will never get this cat! Biological issues have been ruled out and I'm pretty keen on catching behavioral issues, this one is just eluding me (he peed on our bed Saturday, Tuesday night, and the hall floor yesterday). He's either losing control due to age or something else is going on, yet tbd.
On a happier note (and back to cooking), I ordered a magnetic knife block, 2 qt saucier, black and stainless electric kettle, and a second utensil crock online today (one that matches our discontinued Pfalzgraff set). These are things I keep saying I want to get and keep forgetting, so I figured since it was on my mind and I had the funds this week I'd jump. I've been shopping around for things at various stores and though I prefer to get things in person, the best prices I've found on these particular items were on Amazon (the quality should be good - at least online reviews indicated so). The Pfalzgraff I had to get on Ebay (buy it now), but its nice to see a ton of things up there in the pattern! Its all a part of decluttering the kitchen, making it more workable, and getting rid of crap tools while replacing with good ones that will last for the long haul (like the saucier which is replacing a crap, teflon scratched T-Fal sauce pot that Brian and I have had since we were still living with my parents, um, 1997 or so?).
Geek geek geek!
We'll be hitting goffee tonight (burittos at Anna's first), probably getting to Diesel at around 8:00ish. Here's hoping I can be motivated for a workout at home beforehand. I'd like to finally try the Rachel Brice workout (yes - I've had it since it first came out and have yet to try the workout, though I've seen her mini performance many times).
