Weekend

We saw friends and had good food and bad movie watching on Friday. Its so much fun putting geeks of different flavors in a room together. What was really funny, was that a friend's sister lives across the street from our old house in Framingham! Not much has changed in the old hood I fear.

We did a ton of work around the house this weekend. Our bathroom on the first floor is done (save painting the new door and installing a lock). Our den shelves are cut, sanded and stained and they will go in tonight. The antique bureau has the first coat of poly, and in the next few days I'll lightly sand and do the final coat. Things are finally coming together. :) We did a ton of window shopping last night and finally found new bedroom linens that we both like at of all places (and as a last resort), Wallmart. Our new bedroom will be decorated in warm colors which is a change for us, but change is good and we're excited by it. Our second floor bathroom will also match.

We'll have some free goodies for people (let me know if you want them):
-4 long sheer purple curtains (we've been using them on our canopy bed)
-3 long satin curtains from Target: they are fuschia,orange and red stripes with gold stitching in a very middle eastern pattern. They are only 6 months old or so, but we won't need them anymore.
-an over the door shoe rack. I bought one to hang in the closet, so I won't need the over the door variety anymore. Its for a full size, swinging door.
-Nightmare Before Christmas bathroom accessories: a shower curtain, jack o lantern soap pump, halloween outlet air freshener from Bath and Body works and some NMBC collectibles that we had up for decoration

Avon and LSL - we should have your bureau and media shelf for you soon! I promise :)

Saturday was the Worcester Movies in the Park event. Fallon Healthcare was VERY generous, and gave the 501st and Rebel Legion each a check for $300 to charity (The Jimmy Fund and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundations, respectively). Here's some pics:

My car is in the shop today for a 45k tuneup/checkout, and my front and rear brakes are almost gone. Its going to be an over $1k day, ouch!

Well, in case you want the other ones, I meant panels (not sets). Amavia will take the red/pink/orange ones, but I still have the 4 sheer purple panesl if you need them. :)

If no one else says yes I'd love the NMBC stuff so my bathroom matches the guest bedroom next door to it! ( I got sheets/bedspread/outlet covers for it)

If no one has claimed them yet, I would love the 4 long sheer purple curtains. I have been meaning to get some for my canopy bed since I got it, hmm, about 4 years ago!

Cool! Thanks! Hmmm....I am not sure. I am going to Portland this weekend, and can stop by on my way up on Friday night or on my way home on Sunday. Whichever is more convenient for you.

RE getting the curtains, I know Friday won't work. One of us will be around on Sunday night (I'll be at a baby shower during the day, but I could also leave them for you on our porch in a plastic bag). If its out of the way, I can hang onto them until the next time I see you . . . I have plenty of space for them, I just wanted to get them to someone else that could get use out of them. :)

I won't be by Das Cookout (too much going on this weekend, unfortunately) but I can bring them by some night. Or, when will our next movie night be? Maybe the 18th?

We will likely be away that weekend, depending on what Nhan decides to do. Then we're off to St. Maarten on the 24th through September 5th. Or something like that. I don't think the next movie night will be until after we get back....so September 8. If you don't wanna hang onto them that long, either I can stop by one night (dinner out somewhere, perhaps?) or we can figure something out....

I totally flaked on sending you another email so I could get your address! I hate it when I do that!

I'll touch base with you this week. I am going to NJ next weekend, but perhaps one day after work I can run up to Waltham to grab them.
