Annoying

I have an iHome at work, to dock my iPod into. It has attached speakers and charges the pod, providing me with music through the day. I like that it usually can be adjusted quite low, meaning I don't have to wear headphones at my desk. Its also an alarm clock and radio which is a moot point for me at work (since I don't have a need to set an alarm, and I don't get radio reception at my desk in the middle of the building).

Its having issues today. It was fine this morning, but all of a sudden stopped letting me adjust volume (either on the unit itself or my iPod). And its LOUD, so I can't use it :/ . My manual doesn't seem to explain it, and its just too loud for me to be playing around with here.

I'm going to take it home and try and figure it out, but in the meantime I'm listening from the pod directly (yay for head phones left in the office). Have any of you experienced this with either an iHome or similar device? Google searching didn't turn anything up. Thanks in advance! :)
