I spent time last night actually reading the manual for my sewing machine (while sitting in my kick butt rocking chair while brian sewed a muslin mock-up of a new Fett jumpsuit, given all of the weight he's lost . . . its looking really good!). You know, that kick butt, almost makes your coffee for you machine I've owned for years but haven't given much love to? I have to get some needles and I'll be ready to start my holiday dress (its a stretchy fabric, and I didn't want to mess with it, hence the reading the manual to make sure I have the right needle/stitch/foot). Next up, getting more acquainted with my serger and dress form! :)

I also found a neat free pattern via Lion Brand, and I think I may use it for a knitted gift in the spring. Look at me being all planning and crafty. I enjoy it, its just tough when there are so many things you want to make and you can't do it all at the same time. I have some really pretty stuff that I'm going to try and tackle for my first sweater (gulp) for myself. Its something I'd wear in the summer given its open, lace-like design. I'm going to need to consult with the master (Mom) on that one.

We met my Brother's new kitten last night - squee! Its an orange and white tiger with double paws that he's named "Chewie" (yes, as in the SW variety). Such a weirdo, he would chase the toy mice around, pushing them across the wood floor with his front paws on the ground (ala a zamboni) and his back feet running like mad. Cats are so odd, but that's why I love them. I still haven't met my Sister's new kitten, "Andre".

I know exactly what you mean! I have about 3 cross-stitch patterns I have been jonesing to start (a mermaid and a couple of angels) and I just don't have the time to do them all! Besides, I have to finish the wedding sampler I started in 2005 (which I *may* sell on e-Bay personalizes and everything) and my current project. I think I will work on that one tonight.

I think it is awesome that you do all this crafty stuff. I feel like I only have the weekends to do so and when the weekends come around, I don't feel like indulging. Though this weekend, I am going to be baking my Nissu (Finnish coffee bread that I have been baking since I was 15) and I do want to start some watercolors I have been feeling I need to do. Oh, and of course, there is getting my christmas cards either printed (I did a water color back in 2003 that I want to use) or cheap-out and buy them. Perhaps the Christmas cards are for Thanksgiving break since I get that Friday off.

Awesome!

Yeah, I totally agree. I'm never going to finish that wizard/dragon cross stitch of mine... Once I finish up RotJ Luke (hopefully early this afternoon!), I think I'm going to be done costuming until after the wedding. My next project - a veil!

I haven't met a cat named Chewie yet! It's about time, and he sounds absolutely adorable! Here's hoping he doesn't really live up to his name though... lol!
