I paid the most expensive gas bill we've had ever had today (well, I paid the rest of it - I threw $200 at it last week to soften the burden). The rates have increased since last year, and our usage in the last month was just silly. Ah well, its almost spring! I also paid my excise tax and I remembered to put the record of it in the "taxes" section of my accordion folder for 2007's filing. I couldn't for the life of me find any record of what I paid in 2006 (I paid online so I didn't have a canceled check), so we estimated based on Brian's for our deduction. Well this year his bill is something like $50 and mine is $123, so I really short changed myself! Whatever, I'd rather be conservative about those kinds of things. Owning a car is expensive, and if you want one you've got to pay.

After holding our weekend spending budget it left me with $100 to throw at a credit card and $50 to reserve for gas for the next week (I filled up yesterday). I was able to hold $50 for me which is my personal spending budget each week - or at least that's what I try for. There is an NEG women's lingerie shopping trip planned for Sunday, so I'll be holding onto it for then. This trip grew from a now 32-page forum discussion on underwear. Don't you wish you were in our garrison? ;)

We're hitting Anna's and Diesel tonight for the first time in forever, so perhaps we'll see some of you there? I'd imagine we'd be there between 7:30 and 8:00.

Our gas bill was nuts this month too.

I pay the same budgeted amount each month, estimted over one year of usage, for gas. This way when I don't use much in the spring/summer, a reserve builds up for the ecolder months and I don't get whomped with too much in one month. Like last winter when January cost $400 for just onemonth! Yeeouch. We got spared a bit this year with November/Dec/ and half of January being mild for the season. But I think it's making up for it now.

I might show up at Diesel and hit Anna's with you guys, as K. has some kind of class at the time.

Brian gets home from work around 6, so my guess is we'll head to Davis and Anna's from there. And when we're done eating we'll be at Diesel - so you'll know where to find us! Melinda and the Spudly should be there too . . .

I just signed up for budgeted billing - thanks for helping to push me over the edge. :) Our bill was seriously silly last month!
