Game Ideas

My department is taking a trip out to George's Island on Thursday. We've been asked to each bring some kind of sitting/smart game and some kind of up/active game.

I'm taking the bus into the city (Devina - maybe I'll run into you along the route) so I need to bring small things. I want to see if I can pull off bringing Apples to Apples cards in plastic baggies (smaller than the boxes) and then I needed the active game. We range from young athletes to older people that don't want to mess up their hair. And then there is the space restriction - I don't want to be bringing a croquet set or something like that on the bus with me.

I picked up a beach ball at Target. I saw nearby an inflatable guitar for $4 so I couldn't resist. Any ideas of games to play with them? The ball could be used for vollyball sans the net. The guitar? I'd say we could have an air guitar competition or something (by popular vote) but with no music and some older coworkers I'm not sure how that would work out.

Thanks! :)

Head over to danger planet and get some card sleeves for your Apples to Apples. That should help with messy fingers and such very nicely. they are cheap too

Last time I was out there, George's Island was a very windy place.... So, I'm not sure the Apples to Apples cards would be a good idea....

Bocce ball, maybe? The case is small enough, and necessary space is only determine by how far one throws the marker (or whatever that little ball is called).

Oh! Or there's also what my friend's dad calls "Redneck Horseshoes" -- I guess it's also called "ladder ball". It's sold boxes in stores, but my friend's dad actually just made his set out of PVC and a couple of old golf balls.

Frisbees are good, and portable. I agree that it is very windy over there. Maybe something like Pictionary, where the cards don't have to be on the ground or a table?
