A neat organization http://www.cogdesign.org/index.html is having a plant sale in Waltham this weekend. I'll drop by there to grab the things I've been looking for (herbs, tomatoes and some flowers). I need to get myself some dirt too!
That's probably the same flower sale I read about in the local news mag, as there can't be that many flower shows in Waltham this weekend. I thought it would be nice to go and spend some time among pretty flowers. Want to make a date of it?
Well what do you know - it's not! I suppose I should have clicked the link before replying.
This is the one I read about:
Waltham's Lyman Estate Greenhouses will host its Springtime Perennial Sale from Thursday, May 29, through Sunday, May 31. Choose from hundreds of blooms, from the familiar to the exotic, at this event. Gardening experts will be on hand to help you select the perfect plant for your home. Free. www.historicnewengland.org
Jodi, EJ and I checked out the plant sale too this weekend! we got cherry tomatoes, some heirloom tomatoes, Strawberry plants, and green peppers and some flowers. Now they are all planted and everything looks good! :) What did you end up getting?
figures, I did the same thing your other friend did - the plant sale we went to was the one at gore place, not the one you supplied the link for... Oops! hahahah...
It sounds like the sale you went to was much better! I did get some tomato plants, a pepper plant, an eggplant and some herbs (basil, cilantro, rosemary and parsley), but they didn't have a ton of things. I'll probably pick up another tomato plant for an empty bucket I have and then after I do some clearing and cleanup grab some more for some newer areas.
I'm glad that you guys had a weekend just to putter around the house/yard. :)
