Both we and the sellers have signed the P&S and our copy is in our broker's hand. We met with the bank to give them info for the official mortgage application and they've already had the appraisal of the house.

We've told the landlords tonight (both brothers) that we're leaving the end of June . . . there has been no mention yet of what we have to pay or not pay, and what will happen with the last month's rent that the landlord's have from 3 and 1/2 years ago. I think that they took it well considering how much they liked us as tenants. The younger one mentioned how he "doesn't understand why anyone would pay rent if they could afford to own" and the older one just seemed shocked.

I got a whole butt-load of boxes from my Mom and some from friends last night - now the packing will REALLY commence.

So we're closing on Friday June 21st, which means we'll need mucho amounts of help moving stuff on that Friday night and on Saturday afternoon the 22nd. We were going to hire movers but just can't justify the $2K it would cost with all of our stuff so we'll be getting a truck and doing it on our own.

So here's your cue, oh ye massive amounts of people that we've moved shit for . . . if even 1/4 of you show up to help us and each person only moves one box we'll be in REALLY good shape :)

*boggle*, that continues to be my word

2K sounds awfully high for a local move, no matter how much stuff you have. Fred swears by Nick's Moving (he got a discount for talking about punk bands with the mover), and at my old company we used Gentle Giant. You should be able to get it done for under 1K. It only cost 1K for me to move from Indiana to California!

Good luck,
Andrea

I know that Lorelei and P spend around $1600+ on their movers (used the company that J from Incus works for) and we have way more stuff than them. We've filled a 2 bedroom apartment and basement and also own a huge entertainment center with lots of stereo componants, around 15 computers, a refridgerator, washer & dryer and weight machine.

It will be a pain in the butt to move it all but its do-able. I think with 2 trips we'll accomplish it (and after, there will be much rejoicing) :)
