Things are ramping up at dance class again. The song we've been dancing to in the 6:30 class (the company) has changed from "I Love a Piano" to Stars and Stripes. Being patriotic and being practical, Miss Pat suggested that we wear one of our costumes from a couple of years ago (red and black). There is also talk about changing to a smaller, less expensive venue. Change is good and I think it will feel more like a theater and less like a junior high auditorium being in a smaller space fitting of the amount of tickets we sell. There will be some adjustment required (the stage is smaller), but I think change is good. I remember recitals of days gone by that sold out Waltham high school, with tons and tons of kids cued up in chairs back stage on seats lined up in the music classroom hallway. So long ago. Though our numbers have dropped over the years I am still happy to be a part of this studio family.

Brian was out helping a friend move some things, do I had the night to myself. I looked at the Face Mask I had been using from The Body Shop, to find all sorts of nasty chemicals and parabens in it. Tossed in the trash. I've done a couple of oil masks (ala the oil cleaning method) and though I'm not seeing any benefits from it yet, it did feel nice and seemed to leave my skin feeling clean and hydrated. I'll just need to keep that up for a bit and see how it works out. Or make some of my own masks. I know myself well enough that in concept making home beauty products would be nice, but not something I would actually do. Just taking the time to collect the ingredients and make things, not going to happen. :) An olive oil or similarly simple method will work for me though.

I'm still reading that book on empowering the body to heal itself. Yesterday's chapters were on tonics, rest and exercise. He suggests walking w/ swinging arms the most perfect form of exercise for various scientific reasons (over standing at a gym) and using 'natural' movements to build strength. Something to think about. Walking outside if in the proper clothing and footwear for the weather is definitely more interesting than standing on an elliptical machine.

Snow today! We surely have more than the last storm and it's much heavier (sticking to our outside window screens, so that it is hard to see what's going on out in the street. I need to decide if I want to go in to work at noon or just take the day. If I do the former it counts as a day worked, the latter I lose 8 hours from my paid time off pool. I'm not fearful of driving in this weather, I'm just trying to figure out how motivated I am. There is nothing crucial to get done but on the other hand, I'm excited to be getting back into the swing of things after the holiday schedule craziness. Hrm.

If you don't have to, the governor prefers you don't, so the plows can do their work unimpeded by motorists.

Naturapath types tout coconut cream masks for hydrating. I've never tried it, so can't vouch either way.
