I had fun hanging out with "the girls" on Friday night, the name our little group of high school friends has taken up for simplicity sake. Amy gave us a great picture of us from her wedding that I'll scan and share at some point.

After ballet we went to a 501st gathering in Maynard, and I shared stories with Brian during our drive down 117 of trips out there in the past for Bowling (Sudbury I think) and Battles of the Bands. Late at night we met up with friends to watch Hellraiser, which Brian had been gifted on Blu-Ray. I can't believe how well this movie holds up, and I haven't seen it since it first came out on VHS. I have memories of watching it with St. Pat's friends in 8th grade (or was that Hellraiser II?) at a party.

We've been craving ice cream for a long time - Lizzie's pumpkin ice cream and coffee heath is excellent (not to mention their hot fudge).

Brian is trooping at PAX East today and I'm heading to a shower. I can't believe the weekend is already through. The cats go to the vet tomorrow for a checkup at 6:00, just a routine visit with shots. I wish I could speak cat and know why they yowl so much on the way there.

Which vet do you go to again? The one Leah worked for? I need a new vet for the kitties that's closer. Zane is also a yowler and there's no way I am driving him all the way to Acton. I'll go mad! (Although last time he almost cried himself hoarse...) I don't know what Zane's issue is, but Cody is afraid he's not going back home at the end of the ride. When he does get home he's glued to me and super sweet.

They both cried on the way here from Concord on Wednesday night, but it was much more subdued with both of them in the car. My vet schedules are off because we adopted Cody halfway through the year, so they are on different shot schedules.

Vet

We go to Wayland Animal Clinic (off Rt. 30 near the intersection of 27), which is about a half-hour drive. We picked them, since we have rabbits and need a special vet who can also car for exotics (that is where Leah worked) http://www.yelp.com/biz/wayland-animal-clinic-wayland .

A friend of mine brings her cats here in Wellesley right on Rt. 9 http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-cats-hospital-wellesley - the SPIN shelter reccomends them too. Di has been very happy with them. Maybe a bit closer/faster to get there than Wayland Animal Clinic.

Our old neighbor/Brian's coworker brings their animals to http://www.westonvetclinic.com/ right on Rt 20 over the Waltham line. My parents went here years ago, but when our cats got older they just stopped going to the vet (not sure if they had issues with them or not). It is another close option.

I don't have any good reccomendations of places in Waltham, since nobody I know brings their animals to a closer place. :)

In a pinch, it is comforting to be near http://www.vescone.com/. They are expensive but open 24 hours and can care for specialty issues (they are also affiliated with http://www.vetcision.com/).
