I can appreciate not wanting to 'brainwash'. I figure, it's rare that we go to these things out of 52 weekends in a year. She's going to take dance classes too. Part of course because I did, but she seems to really enjoy it (dancing/singing around the house on her own). She asks to go up to the studio often and I've told her we'll go back next month. Of course, that could be the big basket of lollipops talking, too. :)
I am trying to introduce her to things that aren't my strong suit as we go. I also hope that she gets some exposure from school.
We are already seeming to come up against that 'girls don't like boys things' at school. It isn't a problem, but the older boys in the preschool room comment how odd it is that she's a girl, a young one at that, and she knows and likes comic characters or Star Wars or whatever. She'll move into that classroom this fall, and so we'll see how that goes. Her peers in the toddler room don't seem to be very aware or vocal about any of this.
