Our kitchen is looking WAY better (though I'm not able to help much due to the need to spend time with homework). B stripped the wallpaper and took out our old stainless (and not working) wall oven. We covered the inside of the opening with this black marble-like contact paper and now our microwave and a shelf for pots and pans lives in there. We found out that the kitchen was last updated in 1965 from a note on the wall behind the old stove saying "Mark, Jim and Dad did this 3/20/65", or something to that degree.
He did the first coat of plaster, patching some holes - and he'll finish that tonight. And wednesday after work (when I'm at school until 9:30, ick) he'll coat the walls with Kilz. It still won't be beautiful but at least its an improvement until we have the money to do our proper renovation in the spring (mmm - new cabinets and appliances, mmm - new tile, mmm - that cute bunny border on the walls). Once he's done with things later in the week I'll post before and after pictures.
The next large project to tackle after this - renting a dumpster (again) and throwing out the chain link fence in our back yard that's 10 feet inside our property lines (i.e. an old dog run) and tons of bags of trash that didn't fit in the last dumpster. Once the basement and garage are emptied of trash B is going to go down into the basement with his has/mat ventilator and wrap all of the asbestos covered pipes with duct type; I can't believe that those people never did it in all the years they lived in the house! THEN it will be safe to sweep, vacuum with the shop vac and then organize things in the basement.

I was finally able to convince him to see Amelie (we did pay-per-view on Friday) and just like I said he would, he liked it :)
We saw my Dad's painting at the exhibit in Nashua, NH. Biases aside I think his painting was the best (and B, Bad Andy and Tember agreed). From there we headed to Purgatory Falls which was LAME! It was pretty dry but even assuming a huge gushing waterfall it paled in comparison to things in the White Mountains region that I had spent much time at. Some weekend soon B and I will take a day trip out there - I'm aching to see it all, usually we go many times over a summer but didn't make it once this year due to incessent amounts of home improvements!
M and K threw a lovely party and I raided K's boxes of clothes for sale and picked out 2 outfits :) From there we headed to see Rocky Horror in Harvard and had a great time; their Frank was actually really good and there were lots of old-timer people out (we even got lots of hugs from Fieryredhead too)!
Yesterday was our 'day of housework and homework' followed by joining some friends for the season premiere of The Sopranos. That show is a great one - I think I found a new Sunday night ritual (though I'm upset that there isn't a "Tootie" on the show, every Italian family should have an uncle or cousin "Tootie" - I have two!) :)
