"I'm pretty sure they aren't. the ones at SW were big, but I don't think they were quite that big (though I could be wrong, I was a bit smaller then myself). iirc, they didn't have faces either, a detail that made them all the more creepy to me as a little kid."
We moved from Wellesley when I was 9, so its been a long time since I last saw them too. For some reason I want to say that they were plastic. I don't remember the thing about the faces, but on the reverse - I thought the ones in Framingham Center were spooky *because* of the silly grin on their faces (makes me wonder what they are thinking about) :)
gratned, I could be wrong, as these observations are based on memories over ten years old...
