Hello All!

B and I will be grabbing dinner in Central before heading to the Star Wars musical on Friday night. Do you have any suggestions of quick but tasty (and not too unhealthy) places to eat near MIT?

We'll probably be getting there around 6:30 and need to be at the MIT theater at around 7:30 in order to secure our tickets and get good seats.

Thanks in advance :)

Oh, and if anyone is interested in meeting up for dinner or heading to the show with us after, let me know (though, you should reserve your own tickets).

On Mass Ave between MIT and Central Sq. Good hearty food. (Slightly pricey, but you get large portions) They are owned by the same people who run the Kinsale at Gov Center in Boston. It can depend on the night just how fast they are. I've had them be quick on one night and SLOW another.... YMMV

just an FYI Legal SeaFood by MIT @ Kendal is closed for renovations right now. (But they're always slow anyways)

Mary Chung's Mass Ave in Central Sq. is usually pretty fast and good chinese, (Cash only).

There is always the Student Center @ MIT Alpine Bagle makes some good sandwiches/pizza/etc...

looks like most everyone else got to the restaurant suggestions first...

i think brian would like the asgard, but it's not the most healthy place, since it's more along the lines of pub food. it looks like a castle inside.

no one mentioned the bertucci's or the other italian restaurant (la groceria) a block away from each other.

i'd be interested in eating dinner with you guys, but i'll pass on the musical...

Hmm

Asguard seems hopefull, but I'm not sure about timing.

I actually get home really early (at 5:00) but B ends up home later. If he does leave work early (which is a possibility, he just has to remember to do it) we could get to Central/Kendall earlier, hence giving more time for food.

It would be very cool to meet up with you, either way :)

re: Mary Chung's: no kidding. burned soy sauce, low quality meat, and overused oil. The final nail in the coffin was the restaurant not being able to understand that being a vegetarian means that I do not eat vegetables cooked in meat broth. Meat broth will make me sick. this thoroughly fails to register with them.
