Wow, I almost wrote "Monday Update". I'm thrown off when there is a long holiday weekend.

Friday B, Bratling and I went to the Rave in NH. The music was good, turnout was less-than good but we had a fun time watching the bouncy kids and making fun of the older couple in the corner (can you say "white man overbite"?) and the uber slutty girl with the orange tan that bounced around at most of the guys for most of the evening.

Saturday I had my last ballet class. We finished the routine - its beautiful! My teacher cried at the end of class and told us that its the nicest one that she's done yet. It was nice to have a positive experience for my last ballet class, that is how I want to remember things.

Saturday afternoon B and I got together with Jackdaw and Skaven to watch some more Cowboy Bebop - we even got a goody from the ice-cream man! The familiar song of the truck could be heard from the open window and we all yelled "ICE CREAM MAN" and ran out front. I think we were more enthusiastic than the 2 kids next door!

That evening B and I headed to Devina's for a BBQ. It was a nice party, relaxed and chatty and Devina was a wonderful hostess. I haven't seen some of those people in a really long time and I missed them. I am happy to say I escaped being eaten alive by mosquitoes given all of the time I spent on the back deck. Funny thing, Daisy said that B and I were the weirdest of the group at one point (because of our insistence to buy Starblazers DVDs as they are available). Very interesting :)

Sunday B and I took that trip to Bearskin Neck in Rockport and had a nice lunch looking out on the water. We poked around in the stores (god, how many candy and new age stores can you have in one small area) and enjoyed the salty air. I want to explore some of those quarries sometime this summer - but there will have to be something else there to amuse B since he doesn't swim. I picked up some Dawn comics that I've meant to get for a while on the way home and B purchased our first Evangelion DVD. We spend the evening reading, model building and watching anime before heading to bed.

And yesterday was dance day - I practiced for a few hours in my kitchen before heading out to rehearsal. I stopped by my parent's house on the way so that I could drop off my Mom's recital ticket for her and we chatted for a bit. My parents get so excited to see B and I when we do drop by - I mean we only live 5 minutes away but we see them every couple of weeks and don't talk on the phone in between those visits. B finds it funny how close we all are, we used to go over for "family dinner" every Sunday. We're all just to busy to do that anymore and frankly I don't think we'd have much to say to each other. I got to give my nephew the little stuffed polar bear that I picked up for him at the Franklin Park Zoo a couple of weeks ago.

And my Mom knows the drill about rehearsal - she gave me a trash bag to take along just in case Peggy brought our costumes up to the High School. "You don't want to bring those things out in the rain, she'll flip out" my Mom said. Geez, I don't know how she put up with both the financial and time commitments bringing herself and my sister and I to dancing class all those years.

The rehearsal was LONG - from 4:30 to 11:15 and we didn't even get through all of it. The show won't be that long, its just ironing out all of the tech things (lights, blackouts, music, props). Considering how bitter I've been about class things went relatively well. I'm still a bit worried about the "I gotcha" jazz number and the speed of our tap music (the pianist and orchestra follows our speed - if we speed up so do they). I'm sure all will work out in the end and it will be SO nice to be done with it.

So tonight is my last Tap/Jazz class and then I'll have Wednesday and Thursday to collect all costumes, polish my shoes and to recuperate for the show on Friday night. This should be one relaxing weekend.

And I won't have to get up for ballet class on Saturday morning, weird!
