Rabbits:
I went to pick up some things I needed at the local mall and was reminded by the massive amounts of bunnies in the window at the pet store that its *that* season again. Yes, its that time of the year that many people think it would be a great idea to get a rabbit despite not knowing anything about what's entailed in taking care of them just because they are so darned cute. About two months after Easter you can bet that many of these buns are let go in the wild to fend for themselves (or, they'll be stuck in a hutch in the back yard and have little-to-no human contact) :(
So if you have any friends that decide out of the blue "oh its cute, want it", please point them at http://www.rabbit.org. There's lots of good info there, and house rabbit can also assist (usually) in finding unwanted buns homes where they will be wanted.
Jeans:
I found new jeans that fit in the best way - they are called "curves" or "curvey" (something like that) and are at Old Navy. I'm not a big clothes horse or anything but I always need to have a few pairs of comfy jeans and I've had the best luck finding ones that fit my not model-shaped body at Old Navy. After staining my favorite ones last weekend with mud and oil during the shed disassembling I was in the market for new ones (its too bad they weren't the ones on sale!).
Simple Pleasures:
D'Angelo's italian subs rock my world :)
Stress:
We're going to see "House of 1000 Corpses" tonight (no ManRay for me thank you, its been a tiring week and I'm not up for clubbing). Other than hitting Medieval Manor on Saturday, I'll pretty much be home the rest of the weekend trying to make some sense of the unorganized mess that's accumulated and do homework - I have a presentation and 2 papers to do in the next couple of weeks.
On the note of too much stuff, I need to chill - a lot. I had another one of my "I have too much crap to do I don't even have time to pee" moments on Wednesday night at Brian before I went to bed. I verbally spewed out concerns about homework, house, family and the like. I feel like I should just stop making plans ever sometimes since I overbook or overlook things and either totally screw things up or spread myself too thin. We had plans for next weekend that I finally admitted to Brian we wouldn't be able to pull off for various reasons last night (yeah, I suck). I guess its rare that I give in to a stressful head or a tired body (much to his dismay). This time, I just needed to think of me and give myself a break before I burst.

Date: 2003-04-11 11:18 am (UTC)trust me, there's a lot of that going around lately for everyone! nearly everyone on my friends page is saying the same thing.
as for keith and i, we're doing absolutely nothing this weekend. maybe continuing spring cleaning if we get around to it, maybe just loafing. other than that, we have no plans and no plans to have plans. sometimes you just need a break from everything!
hang in there. i know exactly how you feel.

Date: 2003-04-11 12:51 pm (UTC)The funny thing too was, they were charging $50 per rabbit (but I know there's been 2 really cute ones at a shelter near our house that have been there for 6 months and they only cost $10 to adopt). I can't see anything wrong with them - the are cute, good natured, already spayed and neutered. Perhaps because they want to adopt them out as a pair (and for some reason people don't want 2).
"Did you see the Boston Globe's Calendar for yesterday? They had info on what shelters you could go to to play with the animals...was pretty interesting"
I missed that. I know there's a place near me that I'd LOVE to volunteer at someday. For now we just drop $ into their donation bucket since we don't have the time to spare :)

Date: 2003-04-11 01:20 pm (UTC)Point being: plan/do less, and give yourself less grief for it. There simply isn't enough time and energy for everything you're interested in. Sad, but too true.
