And the first thing he mentioned was my hometown, the place of the first factory (I think) in the US or at least I know, in New England. We're said by many to be the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
This book has lots of things I'm interested in in it - the role of women in the workplace, the Industrial Revolution, immigration and of course, my home town.
After paying tuition, a credit card bill and my car loan this week I'm a bit dry (mental note to pick this up later) :)
And one of these days I'll actually get my butt into the Charles River Museum of Industry (in the old Cabot Lowell Mill building) and into the Waltham Museum (on the street that B and I used to live off of).
