Feeling accomplished
Feb. 28th, 2003 08:10 amI finished a lot of stuff over the last week and a half at work that's been looming. I'm hoping to end this week finishing up a few more projects. Its been difficult getting through things with my boss out every other Thurs-Fri-Mon-Tue (she gets chemo treatments every other Thursday). I think she is such an amazing woman for what she's doing despite her illness.
Last night I finally got that hair cut that I've been trying to schedule with my cousin for 4 WEEKS! After calling her twice and then asking her to just call when she had time and confirm a date/time (that was a week ago) I made an appointment at the Dellaria in the Natick Mall. I was just looking for a trim, nothing fancy - the woman suggested 'long layers' though to cut out some of the dry parts of my hair and help it from being so bushy in the humidity. She was really great, really nice and stopped along to way to make sure what she was doing was OK. I can't believe how much lighter my head felt when I walked out of there, I think it had been 6 months since my last trim!
I also picked up a new purse which I'm excited about, I got to the mall early and spent the time wandering around looking for a new purse and some new boots to wear to work and w/ jeans on nights out. I really like it (I haven't been actively excited about a bag in a long time) - it holds my stuff, is comfortable to wear across my chest, is more bag-like than purse-like and its got a nice textured/pressed pattern in the leather (and, I got a free bag because I bought that one, which was on sale anyway).
I'm excited about this weekend; it will include seeing the Dresden Dolls tonight (finally), lots of homework and sewing, finally getting my car looked at for that antifreeze leak, a free rubbing from a sexy lady ;) and spending some time in silly clothes with friends. Oh, and Gram's birthday is this weekend too - she's going to be 86 or 7 (I forget). I must also pay bills again. Nstar is getting a whopping $650 from me this month between our gas and electric bill, ouch!
