Shimmy, Shimmy
Mar. 11th, 2003 08:02 amClass last night was wonderful; as you can tell by this entry's subject line we worked on shimmy's. Next week we'll do undulations and then there's only one more class after that (since I joined the group mid-session). If anyone knows Robin from Netgoth, she's also in the class but wasn't there last week, so I didn't know until last night.
The last class will end a bit early and they are having a vendor up to sell some basic dancewear (crop tops, hip scarves and veils). I'm hoping though this weekend to pick up a lighter veil (mmmm, silk would be nice) and a hip scarf - having a Fabric Place and that Asia Import store within walking distance to my house is a good thing ;).
After the class one of the teachers came up to me and told me that I should really take the advanced beginner class in the next session (even though I haven't gone through all beginner levels yet - they have 3 and I've only done 1). I told her that the class would be fine, but I wasn't sure if I'd be at the level to perform with them all in the June show since I've never performed doing bellydance before. She agreed that for the June show, it may be a good idea for me to take the advanced beginner class but perform with the beginners in the Sea Anemone dance (for the experience). I think this is the route I'll go.
The next class starts mid-April and the show is June 28th at the Green Street Studios in Central Square (so you all should come and support us, its a great group)!
B and I finished watching Season III of Buffy last night, now we'll move onto Angel Season I and all of the extras that were in the Buffy seasons I, II and III disks that we haven't seen. I think by the time we're done with all of those Buffy Season IV will be out.
I've been SO bad this week in finishing up that paper. I'll be working on it tonight in addition to finishing up my reading for tomorrow's class :)
