Only a couple more days
Apr. 15th, 2003 09:29 amHave you ever noticed that in the weeks that you have a Friday off the days seem to take longer to go by?
Last night's dance class was wonderful. Its such a different experience taking with this group than the previous - I think the previous class hadn't been challenging enough (well duh, I took the darned class 3 times!). There were only 4 students last night to 2 teachers and everyone was adorned with lots of jingly things.
The dance that this group will be doing in the June show is "The Chakra Dance" as opposed to "The Sea Anemone Dance" that the 6:30 class will do. We were trying to walk with our shimmies and I found for some reason I have a much easier time walking backwards. Its funny once you get going and kind of lose control of what your hips are doing - and I felt like my legs were made of rubber. It continues to amaze me how different this is from past class experience where everything had to be so precise (like in ballet, tap or jazz).

Tonight I have a date with the computer in my craft room and SPSS. I think I have the work for tomorrow's presentation completed, next I have to work on a paper that's due a week from tomorrow (and I need to pull a bunch of data out of the 2000 General Social Survey (GSS) using SPSS to do it. You know what, regression analysis can kiss my ass! I e-mailed the professor with my concerns about how I'm just not 'getting it' and expressed that I thought most people in the class were in the same boat. He replied and said basically "don't worry, we've still got lots to talk about with regression analysis". Oh yeah - well how are we supposed to do these projects only 1/2 understanding it? Geesh! After these two assignments I have the final paper to do (and we have no idea what that will entail since he keeps saying "well talk about it later").

I'm really looking forward to taking the summer off (sewing machine, here I come). I need to make some more rennie garb, I want to pull together some kind of belly-dance outfit and I'll probably work on a better Misato costume as opposed to the last-minute one that I'm throwing together for this weekend's anime goodness (today I'll be on the search for a red beret). Here's who B and I will be if we make it out to Man Ray on Friday night (I'm still debating whether I want to bring the large plastic Pen Pen that we made or not):
