Sometimes I really like reading the local paper - I like keeping up on what's going on and what kind of community events there are, or where I can find a ghost-white pumpkin for halloween.

Other times I think it would be better for me to be in the dark.

Man beaten and stabbed near my house: whee

White Supremacists putting flyers under downtown business doors (i.e. spitting distance from my house: they suck

Now this just cracks me up. When we lived in Waltham and got the News Tribune (covers Waltham, Watertown and Newton) there were always things in the Police Beat about people in Newton getting stuff stolen out of their cars. In most cases the stuff stolen were purses, laptops, full CD collections. They were left in plain view in the back seat and cars were left unlocked.

Can you say DUH? I mean, if you lived in an area where stuff was stolen out of cars all of the time, would you leave your wallet on the front seat? I can't believe that police need to do this (although, I guess in Newton, what else do they have to do?) :)

First off, AAAAAAARGH! :)

1) rum and coke or a pina colada? Pina Colada (virgin, of course)

2) the caribbean or the mediterranean? Preferisco Il Mediterraneo

3) would you rather have scurvy or a peg leg? Survy

4) johnny depp or orlando bloom? (or jack davenport?) Great, now I'm going to be thinking about him all day Di. It would be the 21 Jump Street boy of course :)

5) have you ever worn an eyepatch as a fashion accessory?
Yep, this summer even!

BONUS: pirate pr0n - bad or good?
As with any pr0n, I guess it just depends on the pr0n :) (Johnny Depp pr0n, now *that* would be nice)

From http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate.php

My pirate name is: Captain Bess Bonney

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Weird.

OMG

Brian and I are going to see Alice Cooper on October 25th!

Yayyayyayyay! Finally, another lifetime rock goal will be achieved!

I hadn't even thought of the fact that the Freedom Fest is on the same day as (and very close to) the Taste of Boston. That's an interesting combination of people right there.

Yes, so taking the "T" is a must (and, trying to control Tember and Brian's desires to pummel the large masses of people that get in our way) :)
