The weekend

We got to spend Friday night together, which we really needed. After signing the P&S and having a nice dinner at Luigi's, which was 2 houses down from where our realtor lives http://www.boston.com/dining/globe_review/690 . Its been a while, so it was a nice treat (lobster ravioli, mmm). After some furniture browsing we headed home to veg. I can't remember the last time we did something like that.

On Saturday Tiamatlady and I were pampered - my toes are so happy. After going home, showering and relaxing a bit we headed to a party in Waltham. It was odd, because my parents live around the corner from there, my sister's ex-boyfriend lives on the same street, and we'll be living 7 blocks from there in less than 2 months. Brian (who is very excited, though he won't admit it) took a walk with James to get some things to drink and show him the house. Earlier in the day he had taken Alex over to walk by the house. Tee hee!

Oh yeah - on the way out to the party we found a notice in our mailbox that a Framingham police officer had just put in there. A level 3 sex offender just moved onto our street, lovely. The last offense was 2 summers ago and he's already free! He's had 3 offenses including open and gross lewdness, assault on someone under 14, and assault on someone over 14. Heh, makes me feel even better about moving!

On Sunday we had a wonderful brunch with our fellow metrowesters, moved 2 futons in the rain, and had a nice dinner with Nazier in her swanky new pad. I'm so happy for her - the place is very her (T, no need to pay us for the futons, they are kind of in rough shape anyway, and you gave us some goodies of our own). I can't wait until we're in a similar place, surrounded with boxes and trying to figure out how to make a new place our own.

We finished the eve doing laundry and pulling together more house related paperwork to fax today to many people (both sides need to get their mortgage commitment letters by next Monday, yikes!). I chatted with my Dad a bit - my sister is going to be moving to NH at some point over the summer. She's sick of Waltham, wants to get away from certain people in Waltham, and works in Nashua NH as it is. Its going to be really weird not seeing our nephew as often as we do but I think she's making the right decision.

Wow, I can't believe that in a week from Wednesday I'll be done with the semester. I have to get some stamps so that I can pass in papers with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. I also need to dig out a book for pleasure reading . . . early January was the last time I read something for fun.

"Renewal is the principle - and the process - that empowers us to move on an upward spiral of growth and change, of continuous improvements"

- not sure who wrote it, but its from the "Highly Effective People" calendar that my Dad had given me for Xmas.

I don't put blind faith in them, but look for curiosity from time to time.

Interesting. I'm definitely reeling from this thing that's happening so fast that I thought never would. I figured we'd get back to the city via a tiny, dumpy ranch in North Waltham (not a Victorian just steps from Moody). I am still amazed by all of this - but I won't for a second take it for granted.
