Shit

There was this guy Carl that my friends and I in high school used to get ga-ga all over whenever we saw him. He was super hot, drove a black van, and had hair down to his ass. He was also (duh) a musician. We used to get all excited when we'd see Carl drive by when we were walking down Moody or Main. We knew where he lived to - and would get all excited to see his van in the driveway on Totten Pond Road.

So today I open the paper to see he was stabbed outside of his house:

We didn't hang out with him but worshiped from afar - I think he was friends with our friend Carl B's older brother (who was older than us, and we also thought was hot being another older long-haired guy in a band).

I passed in my Master's paper last night. I forgot that I was supposed to give them 2 copies, so there I was at 9:30 at night after class frantically copying an almost 50 page paper 1 page at a time in the library. Luckily it wasn't late enough for me to miss one of the professors, or to get stuck in Red Sox traffic on the Pike (though the game seemed to be emptying out as I drove under Brookline Ave).

Today was super bag-lady day. Work bag, lunch bag, clothing bag (for after work). We're going to the Waltham house tonight at 6:00 to take measurements and such and get copies of both P&S' (which we still haven't gotten from our realtor). Brian is in the process of getting quotes from movers (right now its looking like $1500 to $1800, yikes!) and we've started packing. We're taking that COSI mortgage with 5.25 % interest (fixed for 8 years, variable after that). Blah blah house blah blah.

I really need to get my body moving - punk rock aerobics this weekend will be a good thing. Its also going to totally kick my ass, which I really need.

After I read that article I mentioned earlier I e-mailed an old friend to see if they had heard about it. They are going through some 'same shit, different day' stuff it seems, and it makes me feel very sad for them. They really are decent and deserve a break or some kind of resolution. I can't really be supportive though, because of the lovely townie "people will talk" thing. I forget sometimes that the world doesn't operate as my circle of friends tends to. Its too bad really, because I can't be me when I'm with them. Ah well, such is life sometimes.

I'm off to heat up my lunch and read a bit - is it Friday yet?

Brian talked with http://www.statewidemoving.com/index.html and got a good rate for them - less than $800 for moving and $130 to store stuff overnight. They give a price guarantee and seem to have a lot of good references on their website.

Once we get confirmation that June 16 is OK we're going to hire these guys. We have enough time to save for moving costs, and if need be (I REALLY don't want to do this) can dip into the credit card.

Now, we just need to sell our weight machine and fridge :)
