I'm really happy for the Red Sox. I'm not a sports fan at all, but I'm glad they've finally done it.

Its looking more like fall outside my cubicle window each day. We'll carve our pumpkins this weekend and get together our halloweenie stuff next week. I'm not sure what we'll be up to all weekend, but I know we'll be wearing our LOTR costumes to a party on next Saturday night.

I got some homework done yesterday (finding and reading journal articles), though I'm really having a creative block with this midterm. I need to spend time tonight just thinking, brainstorming, and trying to get *something* down on the laptop.

I'm getting someone a couple of bottles of wine for a gift after work, and I'm wondering what the best way to wrap them is. Is there anywhere I can buy wine bottle boxes (I figured, I'd put them and some other small things into a larger box to disguise what the gift really is)? I want to protect them since they'll be kicking around a bit. This will be the first time I've purchased alcohol on my own (because the last time I was drinking I was underage, and still giving other people money to get me things).

Brian just forwarded me an e-mail about a 501st event and I just had to share. A group of members (with some Rebels) visited a hospital in their area and wrote a very touching story about it, along with some pics.

For a bunch of dorks the group does a lot of good for people. Having spent time around the ICU in Boston's Children's Hospital years back when we almost lost my brother (and, now working for a hospital) I've seen the kind of sadness that people face in these places. I wish the New England group was a bit more active/organized in that respect. After graduation, perhaps I'll try and pull something like this off (right now I just don't have the time for that kind of planning).

See story and links with pictures behind the cut, note - it will probably make you a bit teary.

I did some work, had my meeting with my boss and am now having lunch, and then heading out to a meeting at Partners.

This means I'm done working on my computer for today :)

As my old dance teacher would say, "see you in the funnies"!
