A weekend update
Nov. 28th, 2004 09:20 pmOn Friday we vegged, put a shelf http://diabolis.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=222 in the den to free up some space in the living room. This makes the wall a bit less naked and the room almost completed to our liking (more on this below). Later we went to the holiday lighting on the Waltham Common http://diabolis.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=221 and ended the night seeing Dita. I always love to see her perform but Friday's just didn't grab me as previous ones had. Perhaps because she didn't have any nifty props beyond the feather fans. We didn't get to meet Mr. Brian Warner who was in attendance (since we were at the other side of the room as he was).
On Saturday we did some raking http://diabolis.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=224 . Brian had never raked leaves and as such, never jumped into a big pile of leaves before either (I had to remedy that). After a dance practice in the afternoon I came home to find that Brian had been busy in the kitchen http://diabolis.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=223 - thus starts the new kitchen "remodel". We spent the rest of our day and eve driving around, doing some holiday shopping, and checking out Lush and The Container Store for the first time (the latter was just so odd - I'm organized and all but man, some of those containers were so teeny!). We also did some holiday light sightseeing in Brian's old hood where he found condo-ification is starting to occur on his old street with the triple deckers being torn down and replaced with 3 level condos (garage on floor one, 2 floors of living space). In Everett! Who knew!
Today I finished my internship paper. ITS DONE, DAMNIT! DONE DONE DONE DONE! This leaves one more paper to do for my grad school career :). I was out a bit at a Partylite party (candles - ordered sconces for the den so the wall will get more less naked - the last remaining bit of decorating in there will be to find some kind of print or tapestry that matches the blue/teal scheme and is Middle Easterny . . . I'd love to find a print with a woman dancing on it). I'm ending the eve with laundry and will soon head to watch Casablanca for the first time (!) with the hubby.
Tomorrow I'll visit 3 Newport RI mansions with the Tiggerette and her Mom, all decorated in their holiday splendor.
