Last night's class was good. I found out that the group is working on Jive Bunny now (I missed the last 2 weeks of classes). Its a long, large tap dance with lots of different groups moving in and out, doing different choreography. The song is from http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002JNE/002-3240616-1335217?v=glance and is like, 10 minutes long (remixed 1950's classics). I haven't done the dance for 10 years, actually, but its one of my favorites.

For whatever reason Saturday's 'Bikram Ballet' class (it was 90 degrees in the studio) went really well for me. I didn't feel like I was putting in any different effort than usual, but the teacher came up to me after class and told me that I had a great class, and seemed to be working really hard. During class at one point after finishing a turn down the floor she said "great job! Mom is watching!" She made a comment about it again last night, saying that she was going to tell her Dad (Miss Peg's husband) about my good class. Weird. Its been hard making the commitment to 3 dance classes a week when oftentimes after work I'd like to just park my butt on the couch. Once I get up there though, its worth it.

As of Saturday it will be a year since she's died http://dancer.livejournal.com/2004/03/28/. I can't believe that its been that long. Its only apropos that we'll be at the Barre Saturday morning in tribute.

Luck was smiling on me yesterday when I left work (despite a crazy/crappy day at work). I was waiting for a chance to merge into the Fellsway/Rt 28 rotary on 93 which is hell at rush hour, and some dumbass didn't yield behind me and rear-ended me!

Amazingly, my Saturn Coupe (complete with fiberglass bumper) was unscathed! We pulled over and out of the rotary and nothing happened, no crushing, no denting (the fiberglass doesn't dent, typically it just gives making for easier/cheaper repair). Everything under the car looks fine, I was fine, so we just went on our way. He said "oh sorry, I was looking in the rotary and didn't see you" and was excited to see that I didn't want to make a big deal about it. Here's hoping from now on he pays a bit more attention!

This is the 3rd time I've been rear-ended in the almost 15 years I've been driving. Previous cars resulted in bent/dented bumpers and a bent frame (!) that totalled the car. The first accident resulted in a lot of neck damage for me because the impact was pretty hard (by a tow truck) and I wasn't wearing a seatbelt (silly me). Both previous collisions were in old tanks and its THIS dinky fiberglass Saturn that went unscathed? Hooray for small impacts! Hooray for spring luck! In the state of Mass a rear-end collision would have been automatically 100% his fault for insurance purposes, but I'm glad to not have to deal with that headache.
